What is Bump?
Boost your listings with Bumps!
What is a Bump?
A Bump updates your listing time to the moment the Bump happens. Since listing time is a key factor in how items are ranked in search results, Bumped listings appear higher—especially when buyers sort by "Recent."
By doing so, Bumps help your listings get more exposure. Want to see the difference? You can track how your listing performs with Listing Insights after applying a Bump.
Important Update: Bumps Are Now on a Postpaid Model
Starting 24 Feb 2025, Bumps have moved to a postpaid model. Here’s what this means for you:
Coins will be deducted only after a successful Bump—no upfront payments needed.
Your accumulated Coins usage will be updated once per day for each listing per campaign.
This update makes Bumping more seamless, so you can focus on selling without worrying about upfront deductions. 🚀
Where to buy Bumps?
It’s super easy to Bump your listing! Here’s how:
1️⃣ Pick a listing you want to promote.
2️⃣ Click "Promote" from your profile tab or the listing details page.
3️⃣ Choose the Bump option that works best for you—and you’re all set!
Bumps can be purchased using Carousell Coins, or in certain categories, you can buy them directly.
What are the different types of Bumps?
Bump once, instantly
Bump daily for 3/7 days
Bulk Bump (Bump multiple listings at a go)
What happens when I reserve my listing midway through an ongoing Bump?
If your listing is marked as Reserved:
your Bump campaign will end immediately—subsequent bumps will not run.
the listing will no longer be searchable or appear in marketplace results.
when the listing returns to “Listed” status, it will behave like a normal listing
Why is my Bump campaign skipped?
If you have insufficient Coins for your next Bump, your listing won’t be Bumped. To resume Bumps on your listing, you’ll need to top up your Coin balance.
To avoid interruptions, we recommend turning on Coins auto top-up so your Bumps continue running smoothly.
What will cause my Bump campaign to end?
Your Bump campaign will end if any of the following happen:
your listing is marked as sold, deleted, or expired,
your listing’s state changes from Listed to Reserved or to Inactive,
or if your listing is moderated (e.g. flagged or removed by our team).
Once your Bump campaign ends, any remaining scheduled bumps will be cancelled.
What happens to my Bump price if my campaign ends early?
If you have purchased a Bump campaign with discounted bumps and your campaign ends before all Bumps are used, we'll recalculate the price based on the actual number of Bumps that ran, and a rate adjustment will be added to your total cost.
Example:
You bought 6 Bumps at 167 Coins each (1,002 Coins total). Your listing sold after 3 Bumps ran. The rate for a 3-Bump campaign is 242 Coins each, so your new total is 726 Coins.
| Original total (6 Bumps × 167) | 1,002 Coins |
| New total (3 Bumps × 242) | 726 Coins |
| You already paid (3 × 167) | -501 Coins |
| Rate adjustment | 225 Coins |
You can view the rate adjustment from your Coins History page.
How do I know if my listing is Bumped?
When your listing is bumped, your bumped listing would be placed in a higher position in the marketplace especially when you use the recent sort filter where listings.
You can also check if your listing has been Bumped either through the Listing Insights or by seeing the bump icon and updated listing time on the listing. Find out more here.
How long will a Bump last?
A Bump is an instant effect that brings your listing to the top of the marketplace. After which, it will behave like a normal listing and be moved down as new listings are added.
Do Bumps guarantee a sale?
Bumps provide your listings with more visibility. However, we cannot guarantee that a Bump will lead to a like, chat or offer. To make sure you get the most out of Bumps, use them on good-quality listings.
