Why do I need to verify my phone number?

If you are a seller, it will now be required to verify your phone number in order for your listings to be successfully listed onto the marketplace. 

How do I verify my phone number?

It's simple! After filling in the details of your item, you'll be brought to a new page to enter your phone number after you hit "List it!". Fill it in and select “Verify Now”.

A 4-digit code will be sent to your phone via SMS shortly. Enter the 4-digit code and select “Verify Code” – that’s it! Your account will be successfully phone-verified, and your listings will be successfully listed onto the marketplace.

Can I verify my phone number even if I'm not listing anything yet?

Of course! Head over to your profile page and select the "Edit Profile" section. Navigate to the "Mobile" field under your private profile section and select "Update". Next, check that the correct country code has been entered before you submit before entering your mobile phone number. Hit "Get Confirmation Code" and you're should receive a 4-digit code via SMS shortly. Enter the 4-digit code and select “Verify Code”.

Congratulations on getting phone-verified! Once successfully verified, you’ll be able to see a mobile phone icon displayed on your profile.

What is a valid phone number?

A valid phone number is a mobile phone number that matches the format of the country your profile settings is set to be in, as well as one that has not been used to verify a different Carousell account before.

How do I change my verified phone number?

Changed your mobile number? No problem! Enter the Edit Profile settings in your profile page to change it! Once you're there, navigate to the “Mobile” field and select "Update"!
