What are Want-to-buy listings?
Want-to-buy listings let others know what you’re looking to buy, instead of what you’re selling. Sellers can browse these listings and reach out if they have something that matches what you’re looking for.
Starting 11 May 2026:
- Want-to-buy listings will be grouped in a dedicated ‘Stories’ section in search. This includes listings in the Bulletin board and Looking For category.
- Only Want-to-buy listings bumped within the last 7 days will appear in this section
- Listings that aren’t bumped will still appear on your profile if they’re tagged as ‘Want-to-buy’, but they won’t appear in the marketplace
- Spotlight will no longer be available for Want-to-buy listings
- Eligible active listings created before 11 May 2026 will be automatically tagged as ‘Want-to-buy’. Their existing categories won’t change
Why are my Want-to-buy listings moving to a new section?
We’re separating Want-to-buy listings from regular for-sale listings in search.
This makes it easier for everyone to find what they’re looking for. For-sale listings will stay in the main feed, while Want-to-buy listings will appear in a dedicated ‘Stories’ section.
Why can’t I use Spotlight for Want-to-buy listings anymore?
Spotlight is built to boost listings across general search. Since Want-to-buy listings now have their own dedicated section, Spotlight will no longer be available for them.
To keep your Want-to-buy listings visible in the new section, use Bump instead.
What happens to my existing Spotlight campaigns for Want-to-buy listings?
Active Spotlight campaigns for Want-to-buy listings will end from 11 May 2026.
Since Spotlight is post-paid, no Coins will be deducted for campaigns that end because of this change. There’s nothing you need to do.
How does visibility work for Want-to-buy listings?
Only Want-to-buy listings with an active Bump will appear in the dedicated section.
Listings that aren’t bumped will still appear on your profile if they’re tagged as ‘Want-to-buy’, but they won’t appear in the marketplace.
Visibility is based on how recently a listing was bumped. Listings bumped more recently may appear higher, so bumping regularly can help more users discover what you’re looking for.
Tip: Use Smart Bumps or scheduled Bumps to stay visible without doing it manually each time.
What happens if I don’t Bump my Want-to-buy listing?
Your listing will still appear on your profile if it’s tagged as ‘Want-to-buy’.
However, it won’t appear in the marketplace or the dedicated ‘Stories’ section in search. To get visibility in search, bump your listing.
Can I still post new Want-to-buy listings after 11 May 2026?
Yes. When you create a new listing, we’ll detect if it’s a Want-to-buy listing based on your listing image and description, then tag it accordingly.
The same visibility rules apply: bump your listing to appear in the dedicated Want-to-buy section in search.
I have multiple Want-to-buy listings. Do I need to Bump each one separately?
Yes. Visibility in the Want-to-buy section works per listing.
Each Want-to-buy listing needs its own Bump to appear in the dedicated section. Start with the listings you want more sellers to see, especially those with recent interest.
