Once a delivery is initiated, you won't be able to make changes to the tracking number. You may provide the correct tracking number to the buyer via chat, so that the buyer can still track their purchase.
Not to worry, entering the wrong tracking number i will not affect the delivery of the item. However, it may result in both of you not being able to track the delivery status via Carousell app. It may also result in a longer auto complete timeline for orders where your buyer forgot to tap on 'Order Received'.
Orders placed with Untracked Mail (i.e tracking does not appear on app or incorrect tracking ID) will auto complete 6 days after the expected delivery date.
Example: If you shipped the order on 1 Jan and the tracking ID is incorrect, given that it is a Standard delivery, the expected delivery date for the item to reach the buyer will be on 5 Jan - the order will be marked as auto-complete by 11 Jan
The expected delivery dates based on the shipping method are as follows:
- Same-day delivery - within the day
- Express delivery - 2 working days upon order confirmation
- Standard delivery - 4 working days upon order confirmation
- Custom delivery - up to 6 days upon order confirmation
- Delivery with Carousell - 3 working days since scheduled pick-up date (excluding weekends)
Between the time that you start delivery, till the transaction is marked as completed, the buyer will be able to raise a dispute if they find anything wrong with the items received.
In this case, we encourage you to remind your buyer to tap on 'Order Received' once your buyer has received the item from the courier and checked it.
