[Hong Kong] Pay with Octopus!

The payment process will redirect you to our payment partner's website and then back to the Order details page. The entire process is managed through the Order details page when placing an order using the 'Buy' button. Be cautious of sellers who direct you to chat and request that you make a payment.
How do I pay with the Octopus app?
For purchases via Octopus app, please ensure that you have the app already installed and you have set up an account with your credit/debit card or bank account linked to it.
1. Tap on 'Buy' on the listing and select Octopus as your payment method.
2. If you are using on app or mobile web, you will be directed to your Octopus app to complete your payment. If your app is not installed, you will be directed to install the Octopus app.
If you are on desktop web, you will be directed to a site with a QR code. Scan the QR code with your Octopus app to proceed with payment.
3. Once payment is completed on the Octopus app, you will be redirected to the Carousell app again. Your order card should show the status of your payment.
What are the transaction limits for payments with Octopus app?
The limit per transaction varies depending on the Octopus wallet subscription plan. You may refer to the Octopus website to learn more on the different wallet subscription plans: https://www.octopus.com.hk/en/consumer/mobile-payment/wallet/apply/index.html
How will my seller receive payment?
To check on the status of your order, you may refer to your order details page. A successful transaction will indicate that the order status is In Progress.
Note that payments through Carousell will only be released to your seller once you have received the item and confirm this by tapping on ‘Order received’.
If my order is canceled or if I raise a return request, how long will it take to get my refund?
If you used Octopus Wallet, the refund will be transferred to your Octopus Wallet account within 2 working days. For Octopus Card payments, you can collect the refund by tapping your card on the Octopus app or at designated collection points (Octopus Service Point - OSP). You may claim your refund up to a period of 90 days.
Why did my payment fail?
The failed payment could be due to the following reasons:
- Payment expiration
- Insufficient balance
- Exceeding transaction limit
- Restrictions due to security reasons
