[Hong Kong] Pay using AlipayHK!

The payment process will redirect you to our payment partner's website and then back to the Order details page. The entire process is managed through the Order details page when placing an order using the 'Buy' button. Be cautious of sellers who direct you to chat and request that you make a payment.

How do I pay with AlipayHK?

For purchases via AlipayHK, please ensure that you have the AlipayHK app installed and you have set up an account with AlipayHK, and have added the credit card or bank account in it.

1. Tap on 'Buy' on the listing and select AlipayHK as your payment method.

2. If you are using app or mobile web, you will be directed to your AlipayHK app. 

Complete your payment on your AliPay app. If your app is not installed, you can still continue the payment on the AliPay browser. 

If you are using desktop web, you will be directed to a web page with a QR code. Scan the QR code with your AliPayHK app to proceed with payment.

3. Once payment is made on the AliPay app, you will be redirected to the Carousell app again. Your order card should show the status of your payment.

If your payment is successful, the order should be moved to “In progress”

What are the transaction limits for payments with AliPay?

The maximum transaction amount varies based on the payment method and the verification status of the AlipayHK account:

• Balance:
  • Unverified accounts: HK$ 3,000 per transaction
  • Intermediate accounts: HKD 5,000 per transaction
  • Verified accounts: No transaction or annual limits.
• Bank Accounts:
  • Intermediate accounts: varies between HK$3000 - HK$ 10,000 per transaction
  • Verified accounts: HK$3,000 - HK$10,000
• Credit Cards:
  • Limits depend on the card issuer and your own  individual transaction limits set on your respective account. You will need to contact your respective banks if you would like to increase your transaction limit.

How will my seller receive payment?

To check on the status of your order, you may refer to your order details page. A successful transaction will indicate that the order status is In Progress. 

Note that payments through Carousell will only be released to your seller once you have received the item and confirm this by tapping on ‘Order received’. 

If my order is canceled or if I raise a return request, how long will it take to get my refund?

How long a refund is credited back to the AliPayHK app depends on the payment method used.  If you pay with AlipayHK Balance, the refund is usually immediate and returned to the AlipayHK account balance. If a connected credit card is used, the refund will be returned to the credit card within 14 working days, depending on the bank. You may refer to AlipayHK’s FAQ here

Why did my payment fail?

The failed payment could be due to the following reasons: 

• Payment expiration
• Insufficient balance
• Exceeding transaction limit
• Restrictions due to security reasons
