[Singapore] How do I leave a review for a buyer or seller for Home Services Categories?
Leaving reviews helps build trust on Carousell and supports our community. Whether your experience was smooth or had room to improve, your feedback makes a difference.
If you're a buyer, you can leave a review once the seller replies to your chat. Here’s how:
- Start a chat and wait for the seller to respond.
- Once they reply, you'll see the ‘Leave review’ option.
- Tap on it and choose between:
- Transaction review – if a service was completed. The seller will be notified to confirm that a deal took place. If not confirmed, your review will be shown as a chat review instead.
- Chat review – if there was no confirmed deal
If you're a seller, you’ll see the ‘Leave review’ option once you reply to a buyer in Chat. If you’ve completed the service:
- Tap ‘Mark as done’ to indicate that the job is complete and set the job value.

This sends a notification to the buyer to leave a transaction review.
This process replaces the existing “Send Quote” function as of 3 December 2025 in all Home Services category except for Home Services > Others.
What is the review period for Home Services?
We understand that services may take longer to complete. There’s no time limit. You can leave a review whenever you’re ready, whether or not a deal was made.
Here’s how it works:
- You can edit your review as many times as you like before it’s published.
- When it gets published, it’ll be published when the other party leaves their review, or automatically after 14 days, even if only one person has submitted a review.
- After it's published, you have 30 days to make one edit. The update will appear as a follow-up, and won’t replace your original review.
- Reviews can’t be deleted once submitted.

How are reviews shown on the seller's profile?
Chat reviews will appear with the tag “Chatted as buyer”, while transaction reviews will show as “Transacted as buyer.”
This helps other users understand the context of each review.
What happens if a buyer left a chat review but completed the service later?
No worries! If your review hasn’t been published yet, you can update it to a transaction review once the service is completed. Reviews are published when:
- Both parties have submitted a review, or
- 14 days have passed since the first review was left
Once published, the review type can't be changed, but you’ll still have 30 days to add a follow-up.
Why does Carousell allow reviews after the seller’s first reply for Home Services?
Not all Services deals are marked as completed on Carousell, especially when jobs are confirmed or discussed outside the app.
That’s why we allow chat reviews once the seller replies. It gives buyers a chance to share their experience, even if no transaction was recorded.
This helps:
- Recognise helpful or responsive sellers
- Encourage safe, respectful interactions
- Give others a clearer sense of what to expect
If a service was completed, we still recommend using ‘Mark as done’. This allows both parties to leave a transaction review.
Is auto reply considered as the Seller's first reply?
Yes, it is. Once the buyer receives an auto reply, the ‘Leave review’ option will be available for both seller and buyer.
How is my rating score calculated as a Home Services Provider?
Your rating score is based on both chat reviews and transaction reviews that have been published, with equal weightage.
We include both because not every service ends in a formal deal. Even if the job doesn't go through, buyers can still share feedback on how you communicated or helped in chat.
By combining both types of reviews, your rating gives a fuller picture of the service you provide. It shows how you interact, builds trust, and rewards great service even without a completed transaction.
