[Singapore] Carousell’s Service Fee Policy
Who needs to pay service fees?
Starting June 2025, Professional accounts are required to pay a service fee if they have a total revenue of S$1,300 or more within a given month. The total revenue comprises transactions from the ‘Buy’ button, and transactions from Chat. This policy excludes a few sub-categories—revenue from the excluded sub-categories will not be considered.

How is the service fee calculated?
The service fee is 2.5% of each transaction’s revenue from Chat, capped at S$30 per transaction. You can view your estimated monthly revenue, broken down by individual transactions, under the Me tab > Insights.
Your total service fee for the month will be offset by the amount you have spent on CarouBiz, Coins, seller tools and quotas during the same month.
Example calculation:
- Revenue from your Chat transactions in June: S$1,300
- Carousell’s service fee (2.5%): S$32.5
- CarouBiz spend (service fee offset): S$10
- Final service fee: S$22.5
Note: This fee only applies to transactions from Chat.
Why is this fee being introduced?
This fee helps Carousell tailor features and programs that support Professional sellers in selling more effectively. You can expect tools that boost your productivity, help you generate more sales, and enhance your overall selling experience.
Can I opt out of the Service Fee Policy?
The Service Fee Policy applies to all Professional accounts, with no opt-out option. However, any spending on CarouBiz, Coins, seller tools, or quotas during the same month can help partially or fully offset your total service fee.

What if the transaction’s revenue is inaccurate?
We use AI to estimate your revenue from transactions from Chat. These algorithms are reviewed regularly to ensure accuracy. You can request to edit the revenue via the transaction details page and we will review it accordingly.
What if the transaction is cancelled?
The service fee is charged only on successful transactions. If a transaction is cancelled or refunded, you can submit a request to modify the amount—we’ll respond within 2 working days.
How do I make payment if I am affected?
Starting in June, if a payment is required, we'll send you an invoice with all the details and instructions on how to make the payment.
What happens if I don't pay the service fee?
Sellers who do not pay the service fee on time will face restrictions in selling on Carousell.
