Expert Search Tips

If you’re someone who knows exactly what you’re looking for, here’s how to search like an expert.

(“ ”) Exact match search 

Search with quotation marks (“ “) to only see listings that contain all the keywords you search for.

Example 1: “round wooden coffee table”
✅ Round wooden oakwood coffee table 

✅ Table round coffee oakwood wooden 

✅ Table wooden coffee round 

❌ Table wooden mahogany tea round — doesn’t contain coffee

❌ Round coffee table — doesn’t contain wooden

Example 2: round “wooden coffee table”
We will show you listings that contain “wooden”, “coffee” and “table” in the listing while preferring results that contain round. 

Note: 
- Only double-quotes (" ") are supported in advanced search. 

- Only the first double-quoted phrase will be supported for an exact match. The rest of the query will be treated as preference. 

(-)Negative match search 

Search with minus symbol (-) to exclude certain keywords from your search results

Example 1: coffee table -glass -marble

This way, you won’t see any coffee table listings that contain “glass” OR “marble” words

Example 2: coffee table -“glass marble”

This way, you won’t see any coffee table listings that contain “glass” AND “marble”

Note:
Keywords will only be excluded in scenarios when there is a space before the minus symbol and no space between the keyword and the symbol. The beneath cases will not yield advance negative match results: 

1. Coffee table glass - marble 

2. Coffee-table glass-marble

Combine both exact and negative match together

You may put both exact match and negative search together for a more precise search result.
Eg. “coffee table round” -marble 

This will yield a search result where the listing will contain “coffee”, “table” and “round” without “marble”.
