Private deal offered outside of Carousell

Scammers may entice sellers to contact them directly on other platforms such as WhatsApp by offering a better or faster deal if payments are made directly to them on third party platforms. Do not fall for it!

Buyer claims the item wasn’t received

In this type of fraud, the buyer purchases an item, then claims they never received it even though they did. To avoid this situation, consider opting for meet-ups to deliver your item securely, or alternatively, suggest tracked parcels to provide assurance about your parcel's location.

Broken replica scam

Buyer claims the item wasn’t as described and accuses you of sending a damaged item. Our advice is to describe your items as they are truthfully when listing and to take pictures of the item before transacting. This serves as a photographic record of the item’s condition.
