WhatsApp button for Professional Account

This feature is available for Professional Account users in Singapore and Hong Kong. 

You can get buyers to contact you directly by enabling WhatsApp button on listings in these selected categories* if you are on a Professional Account in SG and HK with a Growing /Starter CarouBiz package and higher.

Each Professional Account is allocated a monthly free limit of WhatsApp contact views, depending on your CarouBiz subscription tier:

How contact viewers work

We count each contact viewer only once—even if they view multiple details or view them multiple times.

🚫 Views from competitors selling in the same category won’t be counted.

• 1 WhatsApp click is counted as 1 contact viewer

• For usage beyond your package limit, additional views will be billed for;

  • Singapore (SG): SGD 1 per contact viewer

  •  Hong Kong (HK): HKD 3 per contact viewer

    These charges will appear as a separate line item on your monthly service fee invoice.

     

Can I track my WhatsApp usage?

Yes you can track your contact views from Insights > Revenue > Activity details page . 

Is this different from the existing WhatsApp button for Autos and Services?

Yes.

• There is no limit to contact views for listings in Autos and Services.

• The new WhatsApp button benefit for selected Goods categories is only available for  Professional Accounts with a Standard/Growing CarouBiz plan and higher. 

   

Will my viewer count reset if I upgrade to a higher tier CarouBiz package?

Your viewer count will not reset if you upgrade to a higher tier CarouBiz package. Your viewer count will continue to accumulate and your benefit from the upgraded package will be applied moving forward. 

Example:

If 20 users have clicked on your Whatsapp button and you upgrade to a Pro Caroubiz, you will have an additional 40 free contact viewers before service fee is applied. 

What happens if I switch to a Personal Account?

The WhatsApp benefit is only available for Professional Accounts. If you switch to a Personal Account, the WhatsApp button will no longer appear on your listings.
 

If I disable the WhatsApp button, will I still be charged for additional clicks?

No. If you disable the WhatsApp button before maximising your free limit, you will not be charged for additional clicks.
 

How do I add my WhatsApp number to my listings?

To enable the WhatsApp button on your listings:

1. Go to your listing form and check the box “Add WhatsApp button to listing.”

2. Enter your WhatsApp number and give it a label (for easy reference).

3. A verification message will be sent to you via WhatsApp.

4. Once verified, your WhatsApp button will appear on eligible listings.

Notes:

• When enabled, the WhatsApp button will be displayed on all listings in WhatsApp-enabled categories.

• When disabled, the button will be removed from all listings.

• Each verified WhatsApp number will be stored in your account’s contact list as a secondary number. The mobile number used to verify your Carousell account at sign-up will always remain your primary number.

Can I use a different WhatsApp number on different listings?

Yes. You can add up to 25 verified secondary WhatsApp numbers to your account’s contact list and choose which number to apply on your listings. However, each listing can only be linked to one WhatsApp number.

How many accounts can I link one WhatsApp number to?

• Singapore:

  • 1 Carousell account as a primary number (account-level verification)

  • 2 other Carousell accounts as a secondary number (listing-level verification)

• Hong Kong:

  • 2 Carousell accounts as a primary number (account-level verification)

  • 2 other Carousell accounts as a secondary number (listing-level verification)

     

If I verify a different WhatsApp number here, will it change my account’s verified phone number?

No. Verifying a WhatsApp number for your listings does not replace or affect the mobile number verified for your Carousell account.

Will buyers be able to see my phone number when I enable the WhatsApp button?

Yes. When a buyer clicks on the WhatsApp button, they will be able to view and contact you directly via the WhatsApp number you’ve set up.

Can I remove a WhatsApp number from my contact list?

Yes. To remove a WhatsApp number:

1. Tap ‘Edit’ on any listing.

2. Select “Add WhatsApp button to listing.”

3. Open your contact list.

4. Tap the edit icon next to the number you want to remove.

5. Delete the contact. 

The number will be removed from all listings where it was applied.
