[Singapore] CarouBiz tool: WhatsApp button for Autos & Services listings
We understand that managing chats can be complicated when dealing with inquiries through different messaging platforms (ie. Carousell Chat and other messaging providers).
As part of our Growing CarouBiz plans, sellers listing in the Home Services and Autos categories can now add a WhatsApp button to all eligible listings, allowing potential buyers to get in touch directly!
How do I add my WhatsApp number to my listings?
If you’re listing in Home Services or Autos category, you can add your Whatsapp contact on all your listings through the sell form:
- Click on the checkbox for “Add Whatsapp button to listing”
- Add your number and give this number a tag for easy reference
- A verification message will be sent to you via Whatsapp
- Upon successful verification, you’re all set!
Note:
- When you enable the WhatsApp button option, all your listings in the Autos and Services category will display a WhatsApp button for buyers to click.
- When you disable this option, it will remove the WhatsApp button on all your listings.
- Each WhatsApp number verification will be considered a secondary number on the particular Carousell account. The mobile number used to first verify the Carousell account will be considered the primary number.
Can I use a different WhatsApp number on different listings?
Yes, you can add up to 25 verified secondary numbers in your contact list of a Carousell account which you can use across your listings. Please note that each listing can only be linked to 1 WhatsApp number.
How many accounts can I link 1 WhatsApp number to?
In Singapore, each WhatsApp phone number can be registered to:
- 1 Carousell account as a primary number, verified on an account-level, and
- 2 other Carousell accounts as a secondary number, verified on a listing-level through WhatsApp verification flow.
For other markets, each WhatsApp phone number can be registered to:
- 2 Carousell accounts as a primary number, verified on an account-level, and
- 2 other Carousell accounts as a secondary number, verified on a listing-level through WhatsApp verification flow.
Can I use the WhatsApp numbers of my employees on different listings?
If your employees have given consent to direct leads from a particular listing to their WhatsApp numbers you'll need to first add their WhatsApp number to your contact list. Please ensure you remove their WhatsApp number immediately when requested or when they leave your organization.
Can I use the same WhatsApp number on different listings on my employees accounts?

If I verify a different WhatsApp number here, will it change my account verified phone number?
No, verification via a listing will not change the mobile verification details on your account.
How many listings can I link 1 WhatsApp number to?
There is no limit to the number of listings you can link your WhatsApp number to.
Will the buyer be able to see my phone number if I set up the WhatsApp button?
Yes, when buyers click on the WhatsApp button, they will be able to see your contact number through the WhatsApp.
Can I remove a Whatsapp number from my contact list?
Yes, you can manage your contact list from your listings form.
- Tap on edit any listing from your listing detail page
- Select “Add WhatsApp button to listing”
- Click on the contact list
- Click on the edit icon on the right
- Proceed to delete your respective WhatsApp contact
This will remove the WhatsApp contact from all listings that it was added to.
