What is a Live Auction?
Live Auction is a new way to shop on Carousell. Hosts go live with items up for auction, and you can bid in real time alongside other viewers.
Each auction item is called a Lot. Every Lot has a starting price and a timer. When the timer runs out, the highest eligible bid wins.
Who can host a live show?
Carousell Live is currently available to selected sellers with a Carousell account, including Professional Accounts and high-volume sellers.

Joining and watching
How do I find a live show?
Look out for the Live button in the Carousell app.
Do I need to sign up to watch?
You’ll need a Carousell account to watch, chat or bid.
Can I chat during the show?
Yes. You can use the chat to talk to the host, react to Lots and connect with other viewers.
Bidding
How do bids work?
To start bidding, you’ll first need to add your delivery address and link a valid credit card.
When a Lot opens, you’ll see the current bid price and a countdown timer. Swipe to place a bid. Bids increase in fixed increments.
When the timer ends, the highest eligible bidder wins the Lot.
Can I cancel a bid?
No. All bids are final once placed and cannot be withdrawn or cancelled.
Please bid carefully and only on items you intend to purchase.
What happens if I win?
If you win a Lot, your linked payment method will be charged automatically.
You’ll also receive an order confirmation and can track your order just like other Carousell ‘Buy’ orders.
Payment and delivery
When do I pay?
You’ll be immediately charged on your linked credit card when you win the bid.
How do I get my item?
Before bidding, you’ll choose how you want to receive items from the show:
Self-collection
Meet the host at an agreed location and time.
Delivery
Get your item delivered through Carousell’s delivery service. Delivery charges may apply.
The seller will reach out to you if you have won the bid for the next steps.
Are there extra fees?
There are currently no additional platform fees charged to buyers.
However, if you choose delivery, arrangements will need to be made separately with the seller, and additional delivery charges may apply.
After you win
Can I cancel after winning?
No. Winning a bid is final and cannot be cancelled.
What if the item doesn’t arrive or isn’t as described?
You’re covered by Buyer Protection, just like other ‘Buy’ orders on Carousell.
You can raise a dispute if:
- The item never arrives
- The item is significantly not as described
Change of mind, regret or bidding higher than you intended aren’t covered.
Live chat rules
Keep the chat friendly and respectful. Don’t:
- Harass, threaten or insult anyone
- Share someone else’s personal information
- Spam the chat or promote unrelated items
- Share links to other platforms
- Try to move the deal off Carousell
Hosts and Carousell may mute, remove or ban anyone who breaks these rules. This may happen without warning.
