[Singapore] What are the fees charged to buyers?

(a) Platform fee

If you pay through Carousell, we aim to provide you with a safe and secure buying experience. To be able to do so, we charge a platform fee for Buyer Protection enabled listings to provide you with customer support if anything goes wrong with your purchase. The fee is GST- inclusive.

As of 28 February 2025, the platform fee is as follows:

• Beauty and Personal Care > Fragrance & Deodorants
• Video Gaming> Video Game Console> Playstation

Example

1. For item in selected category, PayNow payment method
   Item Price: S$300
   Delivery Fee: S$4
   Platform fee (at 3.5% of Item Price): S$10.50
   
   Total amount charged to the buyer: S$314.50
   
   
2. For item in selected category, Card payment method
   Item Price: S$300
   Delivery Fee: S$4
   Platform fee (at 5.0% of Item Price): S$15
   
   Total amount charged to the buyer: S$319
   
   
3. For 2 x items in selected categories*, PayNow payment methods
   Item A: S$50
   Item B: S$300
   Delivery fee: S$5
   Platform fee for item A: 4.5% of listing price = S$2.25
   Platform fee for item B: 3.5% of listing price = S$10.50
   
   Total amount charged to the buyer: S$367.75

For Certified Luxury and Mobiles 

A platform fee of 1.5% will be charged for purchases made via Card.

(b) Other fees 

An additional Carousell ‘Buy now pay later’ (BNPL) fee will be charged if you make payment via a BNPL provider. The Carousell BNPL fee covers the cost of processing your payment through BNPL providers. 

As of 7 Mar 2024, a Carousell BNPL fee of 5.5%* will be charged on top of your item price. *This fee may be subject to changes. 

Example

• Item Price: S$10
• Delivery Fee: S$4
• Platform fee (at 4.5% of item price): S$0.45
• Carousell BNPL fee (at 5.5% of item price): S$0.55

Total amount charged to the buyer: S$15

Do note that we do not accept payments for orders exceeding S$20,000. A transaction with an amount that exceeds S$20,000 will be rejected at the point of submitting the order.

What are the accepted payment methods?

We accept PayNow, DBS PayLah!*, Singapore banks issued debit and credit cards. BNPL is only available on selected listings. 

*PayLah! wallet and daily transfer limit are capped at $999 by default and can be updated to up to $2000 for digibank users. If your transaction amount is greater than $2000, you will need to opt for payment via the other available payment methods.

Why is there a $0.50 charge when I add my credit card?

You will receive an authorisation charge of SGD$0.50 from the bank when you link your credit/debit card for good standing. Don’t worry, this amount won’t actually be charged. It will appear in your bank statement but it will drop off within 7 days.
