[Hong Kong] Seller’s Reliability Checklist for Watches
1. Full set & paperwork check
Verify box, booklets, swing tags, warranty card, links and accessories are correct for that reference and production year.
2. Serial & reference verification
Check that the serial and reference numbers on:
Case (between lugs or rehaut, depending on generation)
Bracelet / clasp codes
Warranty card
All match and are correct for that model / production period.
3. Physical & microscopic inspection
Weight, case finishing, edges, crown and tube, engravings, dial printing, hands, lume plots.
Loupe / microscope inspection of dial, hands, bezel, rehaut engraving, movement finishing to spot aftermarket or counterfeit parts.
4. Movement, timing & water-resistance tests
Open the caseback (where appropriate) to inspect the movement and rotor.
Run on timing machine; pressure test for water resistance; crystal (sapphire) check.
