What is Rental+?
We know that renting out rooms to strangers can be nerve-wrecking. That’s why we’ve partnered with FWD Insurance to offer you Rental+, a free programme to make renting truly worry-free.
Rental+ comes at no additional costs to landlords. The security deposit from tenants will now be replaced with a one-time transaction fee, and will only be 30% of one month’s rental fee.
This makes it more manageable and attractive for potential tenants and also gets you a free insurance coverage by FWD.
The monthly payment of rental will be made to the landlord as per usual.
How can I protect myself against potential damages to my home, without collecting any security deposit?
With Carousell Rental+, you will be legally covered by an FWD insurance policy, which provides you more coverage than a security deposit.
How much does Rental+ cost?
It will cost you nothing! The tenant will pay a success fee over to Carousell upon the confirmation of tenancy agreement. After payment is received, Carousell will send you a copy of your policy coverage.
How do I list my room for rent with Carousell Rental+?
Listing your room for rent is easy (and free!)—it's just like how you would list a bag or phone to sell on Carousell.
Tap on the 'Sell' button on the bottom menu to begin listing your room rental. Once listed, you can reach out to our staff at firstname.lastname@example.org, where they will be able to activate your listings and guide you through the process.

How do I upgrade my existing room rental listing to a Carousell Rental+ listing?
How will prospective tenants know my room rental listing is a Carousell Rental+ listing?
Your listing will be tagged with a 'Rental+' label, and it'll be shown when tenants filter for 'Rental+' listings.
How would I be connected to a prospective tenant?
If someone is interested in your room rental, they will start a chat with you on your listing.
I found a prospective tenant through listing on another platform. Can I still enjoy protection under Carousell Rental+?
Of course! Simply direct your the prospective tenant to your Carousell Rental+ listing and continue the rental process from there.
If they are not an existing Carouseller, they'll have to sign up for an account with us, but let them know it's all real simple!
Should utilities be included in the monthly rental?
That's up to you and your tenant to agree on, and you will get to indicate your final arrangement in the Tenancy Contract.
I've found the ideal tenant! What do I do?
Contact your account manager that had reached out to you earlier and they will be able to guide you through the process. If you've lost their number, simply email us at email@example.com or leave your contact here and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
How will the rent be paid to me?
Tenant will pay you the first month rental directly. Carousell Rental+ will bill the tenant 30% of the first month rental as success fee and once the payment is received, Carousell will send you a copy of the insurance policy.
How do I make an insurance claim?
You can contact FWD directly with the policy number that is indicated in the insurance policy that was sent over to you.
What about damages not covered by Carousell Rental+?
For damages not covered by Carousell Rental+, it would depend on what's agreed upon under section 6 of the Tenancy Agreement that was signed between the landlord and the tenant.
Why do I have to verify my identity or provide a copy of my identification?
This is a requirement by FWD Singapore Pte. Ltd. (“FWD”), the insurance company underwriting the FWD Home Insurance Master Policy for Landlords, to identify and verify the true identity of a person covered under an insurance policy. This, therefore, requires FWD to collect, verify and maintain identity information about you, including copies of your personal ID documents.
Knowing your true identity will also allow FWD to confirm you as the landlord and correct person to make payment to in the event of a successful claim in future.
Carousell will not store or disclose your identification card details for any other purposes other than those previously notified to you. These purposes can be accessed here.
