With effect from 29 Sept 2021, in the Luxury category, Carousell will implement a quota of 10 free listings every 60 days. A quota is used when you post a new luxury listing or mark your inactive listing as active. This means that if you used up 10 free listings in the Luxury category on the launch date, you will be given another 10 after 60 days.
We are committed to making buying and selling a better experience for everyone, and we are continually improving on delivering a frictionless user experience for selling and buying.
What will happen to my luxury listings after 29 Sept 2021?
- For sellers with 10 or fewer luxury listings
Sit back and relax—your listings will automatically be marked as active and shown to buyers.
- For sellers with more than 10 luxury listings
Your 10 most recent listings will be kept active for discovery in the marketplace. Recency of your listings will be based on either listing creation or listing bumped time, whichever is the most recent in timestamp. Listings exceeding the quota will become inactive and not be shown to buyers from 29 September. You can see which listings are active by going to your ‘Me’ profile page. Your inactive listings will be found at the top of your products list with a ‘Mark as Active’ button.
We will start this exercise on 29 Sep 2021, which will be completed within a few days.
What does a quota of 10 free listings every 60 days mean?
A free listing refers to a quota that is refreshed on a rolling window basis of 60 days. You utilise a quota when you create a new listing or mark an inactive/reserved listing to active.
For the Luxury category, you have a quota of 10 free listings. When all 10 are utilised, you will not be able to list or mark as active a listing unless you:
- Wait 60 days for the next release of your free listing quota in the Luxury category
- Pay a one-time fee of 600 Coins for each additional Luxury listing outside of your given quota
Note: Deleting or marking a listing as sold/reserved does not free up the used listing quota.
Is there an expiry to my active listing?
No, your listing will remain active for as long as you want!
What happens when my listing is active or inactive?
Listings can be either active, inactive, reserved or sold.
Buyers can see these listings, make an offer or start a chat with you. Only active listings can be found and promoted on the marketplace.
Listings that exceed quota will not be shown when buyers search or browse. You’ll not receive new chats or offers for them.
Listings that you’ve marked as sold or reserved can be seen on your profile, but buyers can no longer make an offer or chat with you.
What if I want to list/activate more than 10 listings in the Luxury Category?
You can post a new listing or mark your inactive listings as active with a one-time fee of 600 Carousell Coins for each listing. Carousell Coins is our in-app currency which can be used to purchase listing fees. To know more about Carousell Coins, click here.
What is considered a luxury listing?
Your listing will be considered a luxury listing if the item is a bag, wallet, apparel, accessory, watch, sneakers or footwear that carries any of the brands mentioned in this list.
Having listings in the right categories allow buyers to search and discover them easily. Sellers found posting in the wrong category and deemed to evade listing fees may be subjected to a range of enforcement actions, ranging from a restriction to a permanent suspension of the account.
