COVID-19: Phase 3 (Heightened Alert) measures on Carousell [Singapore]
Updated 12 July 2021
Carousell is still operating, with business as usual. However, in view of Phase 3 (Heightened Alert) measures, we’d like to provide some clarification and advisory with regards to Carousell transactions.
1. Can I continue to sell on Carousell?
Yes, you can continue selling your items on Carousell. However, sellers should provide buyers with shipping and delivery options, instead of meet-ups. We highly encourage sellers to enable delivery through Carousell Protection during this period to safeguard yourself, your buyers and your transactions.
2. Can I still do meet-ups?
Yes. However, for your safety, we still encourage both buyers and sellers to opt for mailing and contactless delivery to limit close contact amongst individuals. More information on delivery services can be found below. If you choose to do meet-ups, exercise caution and adhere to safe distancing measures. Ensure that you have the TraceTogether App or Token with you when meeting up.
3. What are my delivery options?
We highly recommend opting for delivery, with Carousell Protection, so that sellers minimise activities outside of their homes. We have the following delivery options available on the sell form for you to choose from:
- Basic package
- Tracked package
- Registered mail
- Custom courier
4. As a seller, how do I mail parcels within Singapore?
All you need to mail your items are packing materials (e.g. poly mailers, boxes, padded envelopes, bubble wrap) and postage stamps! You can find them at post offices, supermarkets’ stationery aisle, or Carousell. Digitally-printed stamps can also be bought from self-service automated machines (SAM) kiosks. You can locate your nearest SAM kiosk here (there are close to 290 of them islandwide!).
Once your item has been well-packaged, simply drop them at your nearest post office or posting box. Take note of the adjusted operating hours for post offices! All self-service options, including POPStations and SAM machines, will continue to operate all day.
When opting for delivery, we encourage both sellers and buyers to deal through Carousell Protection to secure your transactions.
Let’s all play our part to keep our community safe. Together, we can fight the spread of COVID-19. Stay safe, stay inside.
