How do I buy on Carousell?
Carousell Marketplace
If you find a listing that you are interested in, tap on 'Chat' to open a conversation with the seller and start connecting. Ask the seller questions if the information is not sufficient in the description, clarify your doubts and express your interest. Lastly, arrange for a meet-up to carry out the deal.
Once details of the deal have been confirmed and agreed upon, proceed to make an offer for the item.
To make an offer, simply perform the steps outlined below:
- In the chat with the seller, select "Make Offer"
- Then, select the price and enter the price agreed upon (if it's not the stated price)
- Select "Make Offer"
- Select "Submit Offer" to confirm, and you're done!
Upon the seller’s acceptance of your offer, both you and the seller can now leave a review for each other to share your transactional experience!
We strongly advise that you pay your seller after meeting and collecting the item/after service has completed.
Advisory
Be hesitant and cautious if your seller requests for your personal information and requests you to make payment transfers, or direct you to other links before your meet-up. Protect yourself from scams by keeping yourself updated on common scam patterns. More info here: https://support.carousell.com/hc/en-us/articles/14436744312217-Protecting-yourself-from-phishing-scams
Buyer Protection & Certified (Only available in Singapore and Malaysia)
You would have come across some listings in the marketplace with a Buyer Protection/ Certified logo.
Listings with Buyer Protection/ Certified logo will have a 'Buy' button instead of Chat.
Simply tap 'Buy' on these listings and you can proceed to make your payment via Carousell supported payment methods. You don't need to initiate a chat with the seller! Once your order has been placed, the seller will proceed to fulfil and you can track the progress under 'Purchases' in your profile.
Listings with 'Buy' button can facilitate both meet-up and delivery. In the event of a dispute, Carousell steps in to resolve your dispute.
